 My expertise is research, I love it and I would do it all day if there was not so much to do… my friends call it rabbit trailing but so what… I love it!

  

Summary:

Terrill Epps has been helping others with their computers and electronics systems since 1967.  As a self-employed person, I have had several companies with which I have provided services for project oriented solutions.

 

Current Job Status: Computer Consultant / Trainer /Internet Marketing / Truck Driver – Self – Employed

 

Job Experience:

 2009 I am currently a professional tourist.  I have put over 50,000 miles on my BIG truck in the last 6 months.  I travel from Mandan North Dakota to Seattle, San Diego, Chicago, Denver, Holland Michagan, Minneapolis, and many points in between.  I have taken the modern Route 66 (I40) from LA to Saint Louis and beyond.  What a way to travel and the Boss pays for it… it doesn’t get any better than this.  We haul mostly food from one place to another on a concrete sea with thousands of other Big trucks going my way and every which way. OOOH what fun… Best job I have ever had.

 

2003 to 2006 – AVI Systems Inc.

Video Conferencing Installation Technician – Installing Tandberg Classic and MXP systems, Polycom iPower / FX / EX / VSX and Sony VC systems.  I install Maintain and Train on Video Conferencing systems.  I have current Certifications on Polycom VSX, MGC Video Bridge Webcommander, MGC Manager, Pathnavigator, and Global Management Software. I am certified on Tandberg Video Conference Systems.  I am also a certified Polycom Video Conference Engineer.  I have installed over 200 video conference installations in public schools, boardrooms for larger corporations, and for all of the larger hospitals and most of the clinics in North Dakota.  I also setup, maintained and was the network administrator for the North Dakota BioTerrorism Video Conference Network.

Microsoft Solutions Provider.  We install and maintain NT Workstation, NT Advanced Server, Windows ’95, and WFW3.11.  Due to the complex nature of the computer market today, I specialize in and seek out and find those businesses that need the Microsoft Network Solution.  Including in our suite the Back office products that rounds out the Microsoft offering.  Additionally we burn CD-ROMs in house.

 

Additionally I install and train individuals and groups in Microsoft Office & Office Professional, Office Professional 95 & Back Office Products including: Microsoft Word 6.0 & 7.0, MS-Excel 6.0 & 7.0, MS-Schedule Plus, Microsoft Exchange, Win’95,

 

**Mid 1989-Mid 1995 Best Computers

I install and maintain computer systems for small business in wholesale and retail accounting systems and Engineering Workstations (CAD & Graphics) in Bismarck, ND.  I brought the first 386 computers into North Dakota.

 

During my Best Computers time I used my expertise at Tech-Rom Library as follows:

 

**December 1992- Mid 1994 Tech-Rom Library

An interactive multimedia communications company marketing.  TRL was a MS-Windows based marketing on CD-ROM. 

 

The compact disc provided computer resellers and computer end users a method by which they could find out who wants to purchase what… In real time.

 

I was in charge of all technical aspects of the CD-ROM production including MultiMedia production.

 

I designed and supervised the installation and maintenance of the T-1 WAN connections and mux connections to our database equipment.

 

**1976-1989 Epps Enterprises in Corvallis Oregon

 

I installed and maintained computer systems for small business in Wholesale and Retail accounting systems in Corvallis & Eugene Oregon.  Additionally I was a sound systems engineer and lighting systems engineer for several musical groups in the Northwest.  I also designed and built in conjunction with Central Sound of Duncan Oklahoma a 6000 watt 32 channel on stage monitor sound system for Reba McEntire Productions that was used between 1980 – 1982.

 

 

Additionally I did contract work for the following:

 

**TUSK Digital Controls

Design and install Advanced Industrial processing systems to the Sawmill industry in the Oregon & Washington State area.

 

We upgraded sawmills from manual machine controls to fully computerized systems.  We upgraded Head Rigs, which cut logs into boards and edge machines that cut boards into standard sized pieces. 

 

I installed and maintained Hewlett Packard HP-1000 process computers, and advanced front-end pre-processing systems.  In Seattle Lumber Company we built a laser-guided system that incorporated camera technology that was used on the space shuttle.  I personally went from Oregon to Huges Aircraft in Southern California three times to work on the engineering aspects of this camera.  We increased sawmill production by 500 percent.  This system was shown in the March 1984 National Geographic magazine in an article on laser technology.

 

**Environmental Engineering

I did engineering support and installation of Advanced Industrial processing systems in the Battery Separator Division of Evanite Corporation in Corvallis Oregon. 

 

This system was a combination of computer controlled liquid level measuring systems (including caustic chemical solutions  & water, steam pressure and temperature control, process & motor speed control, remote monitoring of specific gravity and subsequent process, and remote temperature measurement with non-contact Infra-Red temperature sensors, an industrial process that is still in use.

 

**1967-1976 US Navy, US Army, US Air Force

, ,.).  Duty Areas included: USS Midway, Army National Guard Corvallis Oregon, and Strategic Air Command.

 

Terrill Epps has been servicing electronic system since 1967.  He spent 10 years in the US Military servicing Communications, Radar and Computers.  US Air Force – RBS / RBD Radar Bomb Directing, US Navy – Aircraft Communications, Aircraft Navigational Radar Electronics – Depot Level Repair (A6, F4, E2B, S2F type Aircraft), Electronic Counter Measures (SAM, Anti-Submarine, etc, Flight Deck Communications; US Army – M60 operator.  My duty stations included: USS Midway, North Island San Diego, Biloxi MS, and Bismarck ND.

 

I started Best Computers in 1980 working on IBM Compatible PCs, and have been working on Business Computer Systems ever since.
